VMware Converter – “A general system error occurred: SSL exception: error: 14077102: SSL routines: SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO: unsupported protocol” error

Thanks to yusufziyagulec.com

The solution of this error received during P2V operation is as follows:

The reason for the error is that ESXi 5.5 and TSL 1.0 have been canceled. Activating TSL 1.0 as Workaround solves the problem. You need to change the value of 123422720 in the <sslOptions> tag to 56313856 in the following files.

  • converter-server.xml
  • converter-worker.xml
  • converter-agent.xml
  • converter-client.xml

Paths of files:

  • C: \ ProgramData \ VMware \ VMware vCenter Converter Standalone
  • C: \ Program Files (x86) \ VMware \ VMware vCenter Converter Standalone

(Paths may vary depending on the operating system.)

Hi All, I like to spend time on black and white screen with linux. I love to learn new things in linux specially in virtualization. Currently I am working on OpenStack like to dig deep.
